1. Introduction
Alive Check provides a personal safety check-in service through our website and mobile application. This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, who may receive it, and the choices available to you. Questions about this policy can be sent to contact@alivecheck.xyz.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use Alive Check, we may collect:
- Information you provide: your name and the names and email addresses of the trusted contacts you choose to add.
- Service information: your check-in schedule, last check-in time, streak, check-in count, notification preferences, and alert status.
- Technical and usage information: browser or device type, approximate location derived from an IP address, pages viewed, interactions, diagnostic information, and advertising identifiers where permitted.
- Local storage: settings and check-in information stored on your browser or device so the service can remember your preferences.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use information to:
- Provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Alive Check service.
- Track scheduled check-ins and notify the trusted contacts you selected when an alert is triggered.
- Remember your settings and synchronize check-in information with our cloud service.
- Measure website and app performance, diagnose problems, and understand feature usage.
- Display and measure advertising where permitted by your choices and applicable law.
4. Google Analytics and Advertising
We use Google services that may include Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Google AdSense on informational website pages, and Google AdMob in the mobile app. Subject to your consent choices and applicable law, Google and its partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, advertising identifiers, and similar technologies to measure traffic, prevent fraud, select ads, personalize ads, and report advertising performance.
Learn more about how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and review Google's business data responsibility information. You can manage personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings.
5. Cookies, Consent, and Your Choices
Our website may use cookies and similar storage for essential functionality, analytics, and advertising. Advertising and analytics storage defaults to denied until an applicable consent choice is received. Where required, including for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we use a Google-certified consent management platform to request and record choices before using personal data for personalized advertising.
You may accept, reject, or manage available choices through the privacy message shown on the website. Browser settings can also be used to delete or block cookies, although doing so may affect some features.
6. Service Providers and Information Sharing
We share information only as needed to operate the service, comply with law, protect users, or with your direction. Service providers may include cloud hosting and database services, email delivery services, analytics providers, and advertising providers. These providers process information for the purposes described in this policy and under their own applicable terms and privacy policies.
When an alert is triggered, the trusted contacts you selected may receive your name and information necessary to explain that a scheduled check-in was missed.
7. Data Retention and Security
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email contact@alivecheck.xyz. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
9. Children's Privacy
Alive Check is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
